EK Village Physiotherapy — Recover. Move. Thrive. Book now
Physiotherapy in East Kilbride Village · 2 Hunter Street

Get strong, get back to it. Nae messing aboot.

Specialist MSK physio, sports massage and acupuncture, with a fully kitted gym in the treatment room. Rehab here means lifting, not lying on a bed being told to stretch. For athletes and for everyone else: half my patients don't play any sport.

About

Hi, I'm Nial

Easy-going, warm and professional, though I do enjoy a swear word.

I've been a physio for 13 years, and I'm an HCPC-registered specialist in muscle and joint problems (registration number PH105467, which you can look up on the HCPC register). I'll probably talk about food more than your injury, and there's a good chance I'll convince you to start lifting weights.

I've been team physio for rugby and American football sides. These days I regularly treat runners, gym-goers, CrossFit and hybrid athletes, footballers and fighters, and I've got a special interest in keeping fighters on the mat.

Not sporty? You're in the right place.

Half the people I see don't play any sport at all. Sore backs, stiff knees, arthritis, desk necks and aches from years of work get exactly the same attention as the athletes. You don't need to be fit to start, and nobody here will make you feel like you should be.

Outside the clinic I run, lift and train BJJ, so I know what it's like to be desperate to get back to training.

Known for strong hands and very deep pressure. Top two deepest massage you'll ever have. Guaranteed.

Rack, cables, free weights and a treadmill, a few steps from the treatment bed. You do your rehab here with me, not just on a sheet of paper at home.

Questions

Before you book

What happens at my first appointment?

I'll ask you to tell me your story, and you'll get plenty of time to tell me what's going on. I listen rather than talk at you. Then we assess, treat, and agree a plan you can actually stick to.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. Book directly online or text me. If something needs a GP or a scan, I'll tell you and write to them.

Can I claim on my health insurance?

Yes, if your plan pays back on receipts, such as Healthshield. You pay on the day, I give you a receipt, and you claim it back. Check your own policy's limits first.

What should I wear?

Gym kit. Shorts and a vest or T-shirt so I can see the area, and trainers, because there's a good chance we'll lift something.

What if I need to cancel?

No problem, I'm very easy-going about cancellations. Just text, call or DM me on Instagram. I don't take cancellations by email. If you don't turn up and don't tell me, though, you won't be able to book again.

Do you treat dizziness?

Yes. I'm trained in vestibular rehab for dizziness and balance problems such as BPPV.
